haroldinme:

I will be.
There’s nothing I could say to you,
Nothing I could ever do to make you see,
What you mean to me,
All the pain, the tears I cried,
Still you never said goodbye,
And now I know how far you’d go.
I watched her walk out that front door, and I didn’t even try to stop her. Every thing in my body was telling me to stop her, to tell her that she needed to stay, to tell her that I wasn’t going to be that way anymore.
But I didn’t do anything.
I just watched her walk out the door, her bags, and suitcases following after her. And as her car sped out of the driveway, there was no turning back.
I couldn’t reverse time, and fix what I’d just done.
She’d meant everything to me, and I’d always been so afraid to let go of her, to leave her, to forget about her, to have her leave me… I’d always been so scared of ever losing her.
But I just let it happen.
I let her leave.
The one girl that meant everything to me, walked right out the door, and I didn’t even try to stop her.
***
A couple years later, I found myself on tour in America; New Jersey to be exact. And I was walking along the shoreline of the beach with the boys; the venue was on the beach anyway.
As I walked longer down the shoreline, the boys following me; I found myself staring at a girl that looked so familiar to me.
She had the same (y/h/c) hair, the same body language, and as she turned around and I caught eyes with her…
It was her.
As our eyes connected, her jaw dropped, and her eyes shot wide. Her hands went up to her chest, which showed a necklace dangling and it looked like the exact same necklace I’d gotten her when we were together. And as we walked closer, and closer, it was almost as if she was walking towards me, and I saw a ring on her finger.
“My ring.” I whispered.
The boys stopped following me when they realized what was going on, and they went the other way; walking passed (Y/n) and I.
“(Y/n),” I whispered, my voice cracking at the end, and a tear slipped down my left cheek.
Her smooth hand came up to caress my cheek, and her thumb wiped away the tear that was falling down, and there was a small smile that crossed her lips as she stared up into my eyes.
I lifted my hand up to lie it on her hand that was caressing my cheek, I closed my eyes, and I kissed her palm; mumbling;
“I know I let you down, but it’s not like that now. This time I’ll never let you go. I will be all that you want, and get myself together. ‘Cause you keep me from falling apart. All my life, I’ll be with you forever… To get you through the day, and make everything okay.”
She smiled at me, and I watched as tears fell down her face; she wouldn’t let me wipe them away as I went up to caress her cheek, but instead she gently grabbed my cheeks, pulled our foreheads together, and kissed me tenderly on the lips.
“I forgive you,” She whispered against mine. “I love you, and I promise you I will be there for you. No matter what happens. Even if we get into the biggest fight of the century, and you want me to leave, I won’t leave.”
I smiled and kissed her again, “I love you… So much.” I mumbled.
She wrapped her arms around my neck, and looked me up in the eyes; our foreheads still together.
“And I love you just as much, because if I didn’t? I’d never come back to you.”
